Application Theme
Quiet Furniture
Eligibility
Applicants must be enrolled in an educational institution at the time of submission and be 30 or younger. Group entries are allowed if all members meet this requirement.
Awards and prizes
Grand Prize (Kengo Kuma & Higashikawa Award)
– 1 entry: ¥500,000 cash prize / Rights for commercialization
Second Prize (SOLIZE Award)
– 1 entry: ¥200,000 cash prize
Excellence Award
– 1 entries: ¥100,000 cash prize (each)
Honorable Mention
– 7 entries: No cash prize
【Special Award】Higashikawa Woodworking Association Award
– 1 entry from the above award winners: Rights for commercialization
Submission Requirements
You’ll need a scale model for the final review meeting.
Materials: Natural materials, with wood as the primary material.
Dimensions: The submitted model must be at a scale ranging from 1:5 to 1:1. At full scale (1:1), the sum of the width, depth, and height must not exceed 5 meters.

Tentative Schedule
July 1, 2026: Application opens
September 30, 2026: Submission deadline
Mid-January, 2027: Announcement of Selected Works
March 21, 2027: Final judging & award ceremony (held in Higashikawa)
Finalists will be invited to Higashikawa for the final judging.
