Thank you very much for many entries for the “Kengo Kuma & Higashikawa” KAGU Design Competition.
We called for designs based on the theme “Wooden Chairs”, we have received 834 entries of which 354 works were Japanese and 480 works were from overseas.
The selection will be narrowed to 10 works by the judges now, and the results are scheduled to be announced on this website, as well as by individual correspondence in mid-May 2021.
Final judging and award ceremony date: Saturday June 26th, 2021. (The location is Higashikawa, Hokkaido, Japan.)
The final judging process will consist of a public presentation, the award ceremony will be held on the same day after the judges come to a decision of each award including the Kengo Kuma Award (Grand prize).
Due to uncertainty surrounding the corona virus situation, the final judging process as well as the award ceremony format may change, both of these events may be performed online.
We will announce any changes on this website as well as posting the latest information regarding the competition, so please check it regularly.
We would like to extend a big thanks to all participants.
